My name is Dominika Knossalla-Pado, founder of Dog Meets Baby. I am the mom to a yellow lab named Lola and 4-year-old twins.
I've lived in 5 countries, call San Francisco my home. I love the great outdoors, slow mornings after I drop off my kids at forest preschool and traveling the world with my family.
I am passionate about creating a safe and happy bond between humans and their dogs as the family unit expands. Whether you are bringing home a baby for the first time or adding a fury or human baby to the mix, I am here to help you make the transition smooth, safe and satisfying for everyone.
In addition to working privately with San Francisco families, I facilitated classes at SF SPCA and SF Puppy Prep, a Bay Area premiere training school. I spent two wonderful years in NYC where I worked for Empire of the Dog, and learned a lot from one of my mentors, Denise Herman. I graduated with honors from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers in 2008.
I'm an AKC CGC/STAR Puppy Licensed Evaluator and competed for many years in K9 Nose Work (scent detection sport) with my Labrador Retriever Lola.
Book written almost entirely during naps!
I am honored to be collaborating with Michelle, an amazing and very experienced dog trainer and mom to 20 month old girl and two dogs, and an Early Childhood Expert. We love working with clients privately, it energizes us and we wanted to share our knowledge as trainers and moms to young children with more people. We wrote this book with the parent in mind: tired, often overwhelmed, not sure what's best. We’ve got you! It's an easy yet very comprehensive read with pictures and illustrations covering every angle of the dog and baby journey. From pregnancy throughout the first moments together to the immobile and mobile developmental phases, this is a guide for it all.
Digital course filmed in the mornings when my kids were in preschool!
